encelia was formed in response to the increasing number of small businesses, start-ups and not for profit organisations that express dissatisfaction with the performance of their website.

I built my first website in 1994 using the Notepad text editor to hand code the html. At that time building sites that worked well on 36kbs dial-up modems meant keeping things simple, fast and relevant. Standards compliance was essential. Since then both computers and Internet connections have got faster and faster but the principles that saw me through those early years still apply today. Clean, easy to navigate sites that are not packed full of superfluous information and download quickly while conforming to web standards are still the key to user friendly, and for that matter search friendly, sites.

Working with a team of established freelancers from multiple disciplines, encelia's mission is to provide individuals, small businesses and not for profit organisations with the opportunity to use the Internet to promote themselves in a positive and cost effective way and to overcome that dissatisfaction.
